Privacy Policy

Information notice on the processing of personal data pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679

This information notice on the processing of personal data (the “Notice”) describes how we collect, use, process, store, and protect the personal data of participants and individuals (“Data Subjects” and/or “Data Subject”) who visit the website italiantechweek.com and register for the Italian Tech Week 2025 event (the “Event”).

This Notice is provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – “GDPR”), as amended, and other applicable data protection laws, in consideration of the fact that there is a technical partnership between Vento S.r.l. P.Iva 12783920015 and the current Vento S.r.l. P.Iva 13162630019 and they are both co-owners of the data already collected in previous edition of Italian Tech Week.


1. Data Controller

The data controller for the purposes of this Notice is VENTO S.r.l., VAT no. 13162630019, with registered office in Turin – Corso Castelfidardo 22, 10128, email: info@vento.ventures, PEC: vento-srl@legalmail.it.

VENTO reserves the right to appoint a DPO, who will be promptly communicated to the Data Subject.


2. What personal data we process and where we collect it

VENTO may collect your personal data when you register and/or pre-register for the Event through the following channels:

  • During the registration phase on the website www.italiantechweek.com an on Lu.ma checkout pages.
  • Or, possibly, transferred by our commercial partners and/or companies affiliated and/or connected to VENTO to whom you provided them, for example for participation in specific initiatives organized or promoted by those entities. These data may be communicated and transferred to us by third parties in full compliance with the applicable privacy legislation.

The personal data we may collect include:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • LinkedIn profile
  • Country of residence
  • Job Title
  • Company
  • Address, Fiscal Code and Vat number 

3. For what purposes we process your personal data

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

A. Provision of the services offered by VENTO;
B. Participation in the Italian Tech Week 2025 Event;
C. Technical assistance related to registration on the website www.italiantechweek.com;
D. Responding to requests for information from the Data Subject;
E. Newsletter subscription;
F. Sending marketing communications;
G. Transfer to third parties and/or partners of the Data Controller

The legal basis for the processing under items A), B), C), and D) is contract performance under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
The legal basis for the processing under items E), F), and G) is the explicit consent of the Data Subject under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.


4. Methods of processing and storage of personal data

VENTO processes the Data Subject’s personal data electronically and automatically, through personnel specifically authorized by VENTO. These persons use adequate technical and organizational security measures to ensure the protection and confidentiality of the personal data.

Some of the main security measures implemented by VENTO include:

  • Specific instructions to authorized staff and continuous training
  • Access control to IT systems
  • Data encryption for storage
  • Data encryption during transmission
  • Firewalls and antivirus tools

Personal data will be retained for the time necessary to achieve the purposes.

Specifically, marketing-related data will be stored for 24 months from consent.

In any case, the Data Subject can withdraw consent at any time by writing to: info@italiantechweek.com. If consent is withdrawn before the start of the Event, participation will not be possible. After the retention period, personal data will be automatically and securely deleted in accordance with our data retention and deletion policies.

The retention periods may be extended to comply with legal obligations or authority requests.


5. To whom we may disclose your personal data and why

We may disclose your personal data to the following categories of recipients for the purposes stated above:

  • Third parties and/or companies providing services connected to or instrumental to the organization of Italian Tech Week (e.g. publishing, events, marketing, advertising, IT, storage, administrative, accounting, or legal services)
  • External professionals and consultants requiring access for administrative, accounting, or legal purposes
  • With your prior consent, our commercial partners acting as independent data controllers for marketing purposes
  • Legal and/or tax consultants and/or companies involved in mergers, demergers, acquisitions, business transfers or other extraordinary transactions
  • Independent authorities, law enforcement, or the judiciary, for institutional purposes within the limits of the law

These subjects may act as processors, under a specific data processing agreement with VENTO, or as independent controllers under their own privacy notices. In the latter case, the communication will be limited to what is necessary and based on the same legal bases.


6. Transfer of data outside the EU/EEA

Your data will not be transferred outside the European Union and will not be disclosed without prior consent.

If personal data must be transferred outside the EU, such transfer will comply with GDPR provisions.


7. Data Subject’s Rights

Here are your rights to maintain control over your privacy and data.

You may exercise your rights under Articles 15–22 of the GDPR by writing to the Data Controller at info@italiantechweek.com.

You have the right to:

  1. Confirm the existence or not of your personal data and request access in a clear and understandable way. Specifically, you can request details about the origin, category, logic, purposes, methods of processing, controller and processor identification, recipients, retention period, and existence of automated decision-making, including profiling.
  2. Request without undue delay the update, correction, or completion of your data.
  3. Request deletion of your data if they are no longer necessary, if you withdraw consent, object to processing, data is unlawfully processed, or deletion is required by law.
  4. Request restriction of processing if:

- You contest the accuracy of data

- Processing is unlawful but you oppose deletion

- You need the data to establish or defend legal claims

- You object pending verification of overriding legitimate grounds

5. Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and request transfer to another controller, or, if technically feasible, direct transfer.

6. Object in whole or in part:

- For reasons related to your particular situation
- To processing for marketing purposes

7. Not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produces legal or significant effects

8. Withdraw your consent at any time

Where applicable, the Controller will inform third parties to whom your data were disclosed about your exercise of rights, except where this proves impossible or involves a disproportionate effort.

Finally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).

8. Other Provisions – Minors

Services are intended for an adult audience and are not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect data from users who are minors under the laws of their country.
